You glide thru a lost river and in the process go through a portal back in time or timelessness...

The stillness is deceptive. Living creatures abound above and below the waterline.
The sound of silence...like God suddenly turned Nature's volume off so that you may take in the visual delight of His creation. :o)

It's 51 feet at the deepest part. And those fishes are bottom feeding. Wonder how big these are when they're up close! |

Lost River Outpost
And then, just when you think you're in no-man's land...behold, a blond! Down, boy. She's a ranger who takes care of wounded birds (mostly injured by humans, who else?) which can no longer fend for themselves.

Here's one of them...
Nature-made, man-damaged...it will never fly again. And so it will spend the rest of its natural life dependent on a ranger who tries to make up for her fellowmen's cruelty. |
